Last Saturday we went to Stoneforge in Foxboro, just up the road from Gillette Stadium. A huge place with a really casual atmosphere, the food was good and the place was very comfortable. We sat for a couple hours after dinner near the lounge talking and listening to the guy with the acoustic guitar who played everything from Beatles to The Fray. Someone mentioned going over to Patriot Place and checking out a couple of clubs but that didn't happen. Although Ruth, our designated driver, did drive us through the complex on our way home. (We're getting old)
Saturday's selection was one of the more casual places we've gone to. Over the years we have been to the nicest restaurants in RI and MA, and we never go back to the same place twice. We've also done a couple trips including a long weekend in Bermuda about 15 years ago. One night recently we went to Fred & Steve's at Twin River and had a fabulous dinner. Afterwards we dropped into the Comedy Club for the show and then went into the casino for a couple hours. In charge of the account as always, Gisele paid for dinner, paid our way into the comedy show and then gave us some money to gamble with. Picture this: Three grown women standing around another who is passing out $20 bills. We had a blast that night.
Of course, the most important aspect of this 'club' is the friendship. Although there are always lots of laughs, there have been more than a few tears over the years. We've all been through our ups and downs, and we're always there to listen. I can't imagine not having Gisele, Ruth & Kathy in my life, and I expect that when we're in our 80's, The Dinner Club will still be out on the town!

Great Post! I've always thought The Girls Club was a great idea. And I can just picture handing out $20 bills to the rest of you. I'm surprised no one else in the casino got in line for theirs. LOL!
I'm meant to say I can picture GISELE handing out the money. Someone I left that out. Ooops!
Pam, that's just what I was thinking that night. We made a little bit of a production out of it....just to be funny. Who knows what anyone else thought!
I love this! Girl power!
Grrr..I don't think my comment posted. Weird computer day. Anyway, to make it short, it sounds like you guys had loads of fun. Imagine what you will look like forty years from now when Giselle is handing out 20 dollar bills. I smell a book deal in the works. Pam can review it for us!
Liz, The next time you are on This Coast we'll make an exception and you can join us! You'd fit in perfectly.
Alex, We intend to be out in 40 years although we might need a DRIVER rather than just a a Designated Driver and don't we all have a book in us?
Please tell all the girls that I said hi. Haven't seen them in a long time. It's nice that you all still keep in touch and the Club is going strong. They're a nice group of girls (not ready to call them "women" just yet-I'll save that for when you're all really old!!).
Maddy, I will tell them hi for you. Maybe this summer we can all get together. It has been too long since you've seen everyone. We still see each other in other situations but The Dinner Club is definitely special. I give Gisele the credit for keeping it going.
OK, don't kill me for this, but I left an award for you on my blog. Don't feel obligated to participate if it's too "silly". Just wanted to give you a shout out on my blog!
All of us getting together over the summer sounds good!! I sure hope the summer doesn't fly by like last year - we had too many showers, weddings, etc. Didn't really get to do what we wanted (if you know what I mean). Let's plan on it...
Good Morning and Happy Moms DAy to you, Grammy Sandy!!
I remember the first time you told me about your Club. What a blast for four "HOT MAMAS" to be out on the town doing it up right. Not too many groups of girls (not women) keep their friendship going that long, you're all blessed to have eachother. Be well. Love, Carolyn......ps. hello Maddy and Pam!
