Ocasionally when I refer to my husband's orchard, people tend to look at me a little oddly. You have an orchard? We do, it's small and mostly dwarf trees but it's an orchard. It's a lovely little spot at the back of our property with a bench that I love sitting on in the sun.
We have varieties of pears, plums and apples. Usually the deer get the fruit before we do. This year the plums and pears are doing well. Take a look.

I am so jealous. Hang shiny things from the trees and put a radio out there turned onto a talk radio station. That's what our grower friends in Central Washington do to keep the deer away.
I am officially jealous. SO cool.
Definitely.
I want to live near an orchard where deer get the fruit before me! How lovely! And when may I visit?
yes they are, especially the one with the blush.
Very pretty. I just love the sound of "my orchard". I wish I had one!
They're beautiful! I'm totally jealous.
Count me jealous, too!
Absolutely beautiful. If I had only one food group to choose on my desert island, it would be all fruits.
mmmmm so yummy!! the pictures are amazing!
Those pears look wonderful. Wonder what happened to the deer this year?
Yup, count me as one of the jealous ones!!! :-) It is gorgeous!!! Just to be able to say "my orchard".....{{{sigh}}}
It must be amazing in the fall!!!
Those are some lovely fruits you have there! I just love the sound of having your own orchard.......very cool!
I miss being able to grow such lovely fruits. The pears and peaches are beautiful. They look so healthy.
Oh I wish we had that! We have 2 pecan trees that the previous owners put in but they have never really done anything in the 15yrs we have lived here. Ground is rocky as hell so most trees don't grow very fast.
Delaney....We have not had much success with these trees either until recently….the trick for us seems to NOT do anything to them. We have our first plum the other night and it was heavenly! Still warm and so sweet and juicy.
I'm so envious!!! :)
It is too darn hot to grow anything here this summer.
No they are not pretty...they are GORGEOUS! My fav fruit!!!
