Our two oldest granddaughters, Katie & Madeleine, spent the night with us a couple weekends ago. They do that occasionally for no particular reason. We just get a call from someone asking
"can I come and stay?" They used to call Paul and he would pick them up after work/school. But since Katie started driving a year ago, she drives them up to visit. We both love it when they ask to stay and love having them here.
When they got here this last time Katie immediately asked
"Can I drive the Corvette, Grandpa?" Being the cool grandfather that he is, Paul said yes. Still a couple years from driving and since the car is a two-seater, Madeleine had to be content with taking photos to document the event. Here are a couple.
Putting the top down on the car.
She's a natural, don't you think?

I think that's so awesome that your grandkids still spend the night! Sounds like you have close and wonderful family!

That is a cool grandpa!
How very nice of him to let her drive! I may have been a little too over-protective if it was my Corvette.
Everyone looks good in a corvette...beautiful girls
xx
She looks like she's having a blast! :) Paul is definitely a cool grandfather... how fun!
How fun! When my daughter turned 16, I borrowed a buddy's convertible and let her drive it - she was in heaven!
She's totally a natural! She's a beautiful girl - but I think ANYone might look good behind that wheel...
Um... can I borrow the car?
Paul is a cool grandpa. I hope I have grandchildren someday who want to spend the night! I think I would spoil them rotten.
Lucky girls. Lucky grandparents.
AWESOME! You guys are so much fun! Who wouldn't want to hang out with their grandparents with a corvette?! Seriously.
I have the hardest time picturing you as a grandma! Great photo story. My grandma didn't know how to drive much less own a car! Very cool grandparents.
It is pleasing that they want to spend time with you all.
The first thing Madeleine said when she got home was, "Grandpa let Katie drie the Corvette!". And Katie was standing there beaming. I'm sure this will be a Grandpa story they well remember the rest of their lives.
Ah, The thrill of driving when you are a new driver; especially a cool car. I wanna drive that car and I'm an old driver!
Can I drive the Vette Grandpa-Duck????
So fun! I want to drive it, too!
