Who Put the Pink Flip Flops in My Car?

On my way home from work this afternoon I ran into the grocery store for a few things for dinner. I had just finished a nearly two-hour meeting with a new client and I was tired.

Only had one bag so no need for the trunk. I just opened the rear door on the driver's side to drop it in. Hey, where's my briefcase? I put it behind my seat when I left. I don't have pink flip flops. Oh gawd this isn't my car!

Quickly close the door and go to my car several parking spots further away. Look around hoping the real owner wasn't somewhere close by. It was a gray car but not even the same make or model as mine. I would NEVER have done something like that before. Getting old sucks!

I do that all the time. I see so many 4 runners the same color as mine. I'll walk up to them and constantly hit my unlock remote thingy. I feel like such a dummy!

I don't think it is you. Next time you are in a parking lot, notice that all the cars are either black, white or some form of gray. What does that say about our society?

LOL : once a woman did something similar to me in the supermarket - she was half way up the aisle pushing my groceries, and MY BABY before she realised she had the wrong one...! A suitable case for treatment I think.

Funny, I have tried to open other cars but luckily the keys didn't fit. D'oh.

Loach....nope, mine is nicer!

VL....my car has a smart key (not a smart owner apparently) and I just walk up to the car and it unlocks so I never thought about that. Guess this car was just unlocked.

I'm not so sure it's age, I've done that lots. I also put a cup of tea in the fridge.

Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving such a nice comment.
LOVE the car story..LOL...I find this funny because my whole family did this one day! We were all trying to "break in" to a mini van. Then in all my wisdom, I say "hey we don't have leather seats!".....all walked away very quickly!!!

My mom and I did that together once. We both stood at this car for a good 5 minutes, trying to figure out why we couldn't get the doors unlocked.

Then we realized it wasn't out car.

We ran away.

I've noticed that I've been doing more of these "airhead" type things lately, too, and I've been attributing them to aging as well. I think it just gets harder to multitask. I agree aging does suck.

This cracks me up, but more often it happens that I'm cursing in the parking lot because the keys won't open the door!argh!!
It's okay Sandy, you are in good company.
